The Cranstonian was founded on the principle that Cranston, Rhode Island deserves news coverage as serious as it is completely unnecessary. We cover restaurant openings, local events, and the occasional bit of neighborhood drama with the same gravity other papers reserve for elections. This is deliberate. Somebody has to take Rolfe Square seriously, and it might as well be us.

We are not affiliated with any other Cranston publication, mostly because none currently exist. We answer to no editorial board but ourselves, which explains a lot.

We fact-check what we can, admit what we can't, and correct our mistakes in public, which is more than you can say for most people's group chats. If we get a restaurant's hours wrong, we're sorry, and we will absolutely still show up hungry.
